As we mentioned, this website has served its purpose and its time has come to go "Dark." On Friday, November 30th, 2007, this website will no longer exist, much like the events that caused this site to be created.

A day hasn't passed where I haven't thought about my mother; I truly miss her. Yet, if she's at peace and happy in God's Kingdom, I accept God's decision to take her from us. On behalf of my dad, sister, and brother, we thank you all.

Thank you for your loving words. Your Mother left a wonderful part of herself in her family. We light a candle for her at our Wednesday Bible study each week. I have been able to create a similar website to update friends and family on my fathers progress through his cancer treatment. On some of the most difficult days, I've been able to look back and read your kind and loving words about your mother's progress and its helped strength me to carry on. I've never met you all, but I loved your mother very much and I know I would love you all as well. Thank you again. God Bless you all. Love, Laura Emmerling from Saint John's

You can't imagine how often our nina Joan comes to mind. I see her often in my dreams, always lovely and happy. I hear her voice "Hi Martha, it's Joan." While in Europe one day Amy and I heard her name called aloud several times (strange since we were in Italy!) and even saw a sign with her name on it! We took it for what it was: our nina Joan was in our hearts. It gave us comfort.
Thank you again for this blog that did serve it's purpose and Joan's wishes that we all learn from her experience. I laugh when I remember she referred to me as her techie friend!
Mel, I miss talking to you so I'll pick a quiet evening soon to call. Much love to all of you, marta
